DIY found to lower the standard of Residential Building BTP in NSW - varies between 200% to 400% below Simulation Method when compared with NatHERS and far more variation expected to AccuRATE.


 

 

 


 Sustainability Consultants to the Built Environment

As part of the Practices design process it uses best practise principles of Solar Passive Design and Energy Sustainable Design.

With the agreement at Kyoto to reduce Greenhouse Gas emissions and the introduction of the provisions of SEPP 60 the is a push to raise public awareness of matter concerning the ecology and in particular the largest discharge of greenhouse gasses derived from residential developments generally.

Ecologically Sustainable Design has been practiced by Architects for many years by way of Solar Passive Design. These principles are being included as part of local legislation so as to include the need to reduce energy usage by ALL new residences and buildings being contemplated.

These principles of sustainability cover generally the following:

  1. Contribution to the quality and sustainability of the natural and built environments.
  2. Reduction of the depletion of the planets finite resources via the reduction of the use of fossil fuels.
  3. Maintenance of restoration of biodiversity.
  4. Minimise the consumption of resources, especially those which are not renewable.
  5. Minimisation of the pollution of soil, air and water.
  6. Maximise health, safety and comfort of building users.
  7. Increase general awareness of environmental issues.
