DIY found to lower the standard of Residential Building BTP in NSW - varies between 200% to 400% below Simulation Method when compared with NatHERS and far more variation expected to AccuRATE.

Last year several hundred people died by drowning in preventable water related activities.

Of these 45% were in the 0 - 5 age group, and Swimming Pools and Spas accounted for the drowning.

The are strict Regulations governing safety in respect of swimming pools and spas - most pools don't comply with these Regulations.

The Australian Standard AS 2818 states that:

"Swimming Pool owners should be aware that where death or injury to any person occurs in their pool, a legal liability may fall upon them or upon the person responsible for the pool at the time of such an incident".

Liability of the owners in a Strata Plan is unlimited.

Under OH & S failing to comply with mandatory requirements attracts heavy penalties.
