Technologies are continuously evolving. The range of solutions, and the effectiveness of the environmental performance of these systems continues to improve. Each architectural project then builds on the achievements of the precedents. This section briefly outlines:-

  •
ESD management
  •
ESD renewable energy
  •
ESD electrical appliances
  •
ESD air movement
  •
ESD rain water capture
  •
ESD hot water generation
  •
ESD wood fuel and wood lotting
  •
ESD compost toilet
  •
ESD waste waters treatment and re-use
  •
ESD bushfire protection

Overview

Translating good ideas and intentions into real projects operating in the real world depends on application of practical technologies.

The usual development industry response is to utilise conventional development techniques and attach to these one or two 'cute' technologies. The driving force in this approach is the expectation that the consumer will not accept 'radical' developments where the environmental principles are applied to the best practice standards of the time.

That is not the experience of this architectural practice particularly in remote rural sites locally and in developing countries within Asia.

Here ESD principles have been adopted as have shown economic benefits from inception.
